Terms, measured

Each page here starts with the word itself, as the Tanakh uses it, and then counts its letters at every skip the text allows. Every count stands beside what chance alone would give.

Words of the Tanakh

Words people bring to a search first. Most of them mean something a little different in the text than they do today.

Festivals

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur go by names the Tanakh does not use, and Hanukkah is later than the Tanakh.

People

Spelling is often the story here. David, Jeremiah and Abigail all change letters within the Tanakh.

The tribes

Dan and Gad are not here: a two-letter name stands at nearly every skip, so there is nothing to measure. Joseph is under People.

Places

Several are names with a person behind them, and two were spelled differently depending on which book was being written.

The months

Most of these names came back from Babylon, and four of them stand in no book of the Tanakh as a month. Av has two letters and no page.

Years

A Hebrew year's letters are a date. Any word they happen to spell is an accident of the calendar.
